Waking up is hard to do..

I'm used to going to school early in the morning.
It's like my entire school life is about waking up early in the morning..
But it's just this school year when I feel like it's really tiring do such thing.
Maybe because of sleeping so late, or maybe I'm just getting old (I'm 21, I'm not that old)..

That's when I realized that there are things I have to consider for me to really wake up early in the morning to avoid hassles, or deprivation of sleep when I come to class.

Tips on waking up early in the morning:

1. Sleep early
Trust me, it never fails. When you sleep early, you wake up early. It's not really necessary you spend 8 hours of sleep (like for babies..hehe), but just enough to make you stand up when you hear the alarm, and enough not to touch the snooze button. :)

2. Speaking of alarms, NEVER TRUST THE ALARM CLOCK.
I'm not saying it won't help you wake up early, but because we have the tendency to snooze it. I have this experience that I set my alarm 5am, but I was still sleepy, so I snooze it, thinking it would alarm again after 5-10 minutes. The next thing I realized, it was 8am already. I never heard the snooze again. It happened to me like a couple of times already. Alarm clocks are tools to help us wake up, but it's still our decision to stand up and get away from our comfy bed.

3. Be Coffee-free
Coffee
is quick, easy and cheap for most of us on the go in the morning, but consider other caffeinated, sugary options. Tea is ideal for those who are not only willing to start their mornings off on the right foot, but are willing to kick their caffeine addiction. Most black teas even include the same amount of caffeine as coffee without the consequences of crashing. Believe it or not, orange juice has also been proven to jump start the body after a restless night of sleep. The sugar content will give you just enough energy to make it through the morning while providing you with your daily dose of Vitamin C. All of these drinks are bound to get you going, but remember, nothing beats revitalizing yourself with eight hours of sleep. (Source: http://www.ehow.com/way_5196346_tips-wake-up-morning.html)

* except for Starbucks. No one can resist Starbucks. :) *

4. Bath and Brush before and after sleeping
It'll help you wake up comfortable, and not feeling any "hassles or uncomfyness". By feeling fresh, you will not feel sleepy on your classes/job, but only a prepared mind and confident self.

5. Discipline.
Yes, young Jedi. DISCIPLINE. Try doing it for 14 days until it becomes part of your daily routine. DISCIPLINE. Control yourself from sleep slavery. DISCIPLINE. No snoozing of alarm clocks. Wake up when it's already ringing. DISCIPLINE.

You're a hypocrite if you say you love waking up early in the morning.
I mean, who does?!
But my motivations are it helps me discipline myself, and it makes me focus in my classes.
And I believe it will also affect on my performance by being focus.
So guys, if I were you, practice waking up early.
It's good for the health, for the mind and for your school/work.

*Actually, I still kinda suck at my tips, but I'm trying really hard this sem to wake up early again. :) *

Tweetitow: the Guinea Pig's Point of View

Okay, let's settle this first, you might ask why Guinea Pig?
Because I am one of the FIRST beta testers of this really really cool Twitter app, just like when you test a medicine to a guinea pig. (No, I'm not promoting animal abuse here. That's because of that Nutty Professor movie. :) )

TWEETITOW

Tweetitow is a mobile Twitter application that lets you send tweets to your twitter account for only Php 1.00 .. And I bet there's a lot of applications rising today that also has the same service, but I will tell you why Tweetitow is TOTALLY different from these other applications.

It's Free.
No, it's not free FREE, okay?
It's free because tweetitow doesn't charge you for anything when sending tweets, but you will only pay the charge of your mobile network (Globe, Sun, Smart), that is Php1..
And all other features, tweetitow won't charge you for anything yet as long as you have enough CREDITS to use their features.

Now, what are credits?
Credits, for me, are the so-called your "tweetitow money". These are your "money" when using their features (will talk more later about it's features). Upon registration, tweetitow will give you 30 credits, and it will refilled 50 credits everyday. Credits are NOT text loads. Like I said, they're virtual money to use the features of Tweetitow.

What are these features you're talkin' about?
These features makes tweetitow waaaaaay different from other applications. With tweetitow, you can also send direct messages to users, follow users and allow to send to your phone their tweets, retrieve the latest tweets on your timeline and give credits to other tweetitow users!

Cool, I wanna try it now!
To register, type:
Reg yourTwitterUserName yourPassword

ex. Reg fredbaa abc123def
and send it to
Globe: 09273389183
Smart: 09281020579
SUN: 09239860673

And wait for the confirmation message that you're already registered to tweetitow!

To send tweets:
Simple, just type in your tweet and send it to the numbers above where you registered. No hassle keywords or anything. To create a mention, just add the @ prefix on usernames, and it will send it directly to that user and appear on your timeline. To create a direct message, just type "d username yourmessage" just like when sending direct messages. So you see, its the same on what you're doing on Twitter.

Mentions and Direct Messages:
This is where the credits come in. When someone mentions you (@fredbaa for example) or sends you a direct message, it automatically sends it to your phone. It does not charge your text load, but on your credits (tweetitow money). And the convenience of it is really cool because you don't have to refresh and refresh your twitter page just to check if someone sent you a DM or mentions you, but it sends it DIRECTLY to your phone. Isn't it amazing? Try it by sending your own username a mention or a DM.

How about Facebook status updates?
And the goodness about it is you can actually connect your Twitter account to Facebook, which when you update your Twitter status, it will update your facebook status as well.
Just change the settings in here: How to Connect Twitter to Facebook

I have probably told you the basics, but if you wanna try other features, check out Tweetitow's website here.

I'm still a FAN of tweetitow and will always be.
If you want a really convenient way of tweeting, then try the application. It's the cherry on your ice cream. It's really sweet! :)

Tweeting + Habit

I think everyone knows what tweeting is, right?
I've been using twitter for a year now, and I tell you its actually a part of my life now.
I never miss tweeting every day.
It's like my micro-mobile-diary..

Tweeting has a lot of use, especially on marketing and newscasting.
I actually subscribe to some news organizations who has twitter accounts, at least I know I'm still connected to the world.
I even follow celebrities who happens to have twitter accounts.
I find this even more viable compared to news about them on the internet, at least in their tweets, they're the one who are actually saying it, not their publicist or anything.

But no, I don't subscribe to Miley Cyrus or Lindsay Lohan. I find their lives irrelevant to me.

I also follow politicians, say for example President Obama, or Chiz Escudero.
They tweet like a lot of important things about our society, and even their fellow colleagues.
At least you know that those things actually happen in the government.

Twitter is about connecting people and with the world.
Sharing ideas, knowledge, news and insights.
Retweeting is one of the coolest thing about tweeting, you share what other people share.
When your post is retweeted, then they actually find it very interesting.

I just don't like people tweeting very irrelevant things like feeding their cat, or showering their dogs.
It's like Paris Hilton tweeting.
Let's tweet something with sense, something that will add to people's learning.
Oh well, I was even like that before, tweeting like anything, but I realize twitter is more than that.

Twitter should change "What are you doing?" to "What do you wanna say to the world?" according to Seth Godin. And that actually is right. Twitter now is not something personal, its about sharing something to the world. Providing information that you find interesting. That is what twitter is all about...

So tweet something interesting and share it to the world. :)

Follow me on Twitter.

Wanna tweet through SMS for only a peso? Use Tweetitow.

Will blog about tweetitow on my next post. :)

the kid who played fire

A friend asked me what my most unforgettable experience when I was a kid. After moments of finding some good memories of my childhood, I picked out the most daring, naughty experience I had.

When I was a kid, I usually play at my neighbor's place.
There was one time I went there and noticed there was no one in the house.
So I played outside their door.
I was playing matchsticks + candle that then when I accidentally lit their window's curtain.
I was scared when the fire grew bigger.
I hurriedly fetch a pail of water and put out the flame.
Good thing the fire didn't spread (and almost burned the house down).
But it was very wet inside.
When our neighbor knew the incident, after seeing the burnt curtains and very wet floor, OMG, she blamed our junkie neighbor who happen to be her greatest enemy.
But my dad knew it was me, so he scolded me really bad (but didn't get any spanking though) and it was the first father/son talk I had with him.

It was the most unforgettable experience I had when I was a kid. :)

Oh no wait....

Also, I think I was 7 that then when I had my first kiss with this really cool girl.
She was my playmate, and the feeling of the first kiss was really heaven.
I was nervous but happy.
LOL. can't believe I'm sharing this to you.

PS.
Up until now, my neighbor still didn't know it was me who almost burned their house 15 years ago. And that girl who I had my first kiss with is still my bestfriend today. :)
