Waking up is hard to do..

I'm used to going to school early in the morning.
It's like my entire school life is about waking up early in the morning..
But it's just this school year when I feel like it's really tiring do such thing.
Maybe because of sleeping so late, or maybe I'm just getting old (I'm 21, I'm not that old)..

That's when I realized that there are things I have to consider for me to really wake up early in the morning to avoid hassles, or deprivation of sleep when I come to class.

Tips on waking up early in the morning:

1. Sleep early
Trust me, it never fails. When you sleep early, you wake up early. It's not really necessary you spend 8 hours of sleep (like for babies..hehe), but just enough to make you stand up when you hear the alarm, and enough not to touch the snooze button. :)

2. Speaking of alarms, NEVER TRUST THE ALARM CLOCK.
I'm not saying it won't help you wake up early, but because we have the tendency to snooze it. I have this experience that I set my alarm 5am, but I was still sleepy, so I snooze it, thinking it would alarm again after 5-10 minutes. The next thing I realized, it was 8am already. I never heard the snooze again. It happened to me like a couple of times already. Alarm clocks are tools to help us wake up, but it's still our decision to stand up and get away from our comfy bed.

3. Be Coffee-free
Coffee
is quick, easy and cheap for most of us on the go in the morning, but consider other caffeinated, sugary options. Tea is ideal for those who are not only willing to start their mornings off on the right foot, but are willing to kick their caffeine addiction. Most black teas even include the same amount of caffeine as coffee without the consequences of crashing. Believe it or not, orange juice has also been proven to jump start the body after a restless night of sleep. The sugar content will give you just enough energy to make it through the morning while providing you with your daily dose of Vitamin C. All of these drinks are bound to get you going, but remember, nothing beats revitalizing yourself with eight hours of sleep. (Source: http://www.ehow.com/way_5196346_tips-wake-up-morning.html)

* except for Starbucks. No one can resist Starbucks. :) *

4. Bath and Brush before and after sleeping
It'll help you wake up comfortable, and not feeling any "hassles or uncomfyness". By feeling fresh, you will not feel sleepy on your classes/job, but only a prepared mind and confident self.

5. Discipline.
Yes, young Jedi. DISCIPLINE. Try doing it for 14 days until it becomes part of your daily routine. DISCIPLINE. Control yourself from sleep slavery. DISCIPLINE. No snoozing of alarm clocks. Wake up when it's already ringing. DISCIPLINE.

You're a hypocrite if you say you love waking up early in the morning.
I mean, who does?!
But my motivations are it helps me discipline myself, and it makes me focus in my classes.
And I believe it will also affect on my performance by being focus.
So guys, if I were you, practice waking up early.
It's good for the health, for the mind and for your school/work.

*Actually, I still kinda suck at my tips, but I'm trying really hard this sem to wake up early again. :) *

Tweetitow: the Guinea Pig's Point of View

Okay, let's settle this first, you might ask why Guinea Pig?
Because I am one of the FIRST beta testers of this really really cool Twitter app, just like when you test a medicine to a guinea pig. (No, I'm not promoting animal abuse here. That's because of that Nutty Professor movie. :) )

TWEETITOW

Tweetitow is a mobile Twitter application that lets you send tweets to your twitter account for only Php 1.00 .. And I bet there's a lot of applications rising today that also has the same service, but I will tell you why Tweetitow is TOTALLY different from these other applications.

It's Free.
No, it's not free FREE, okay?
It's free because tweetitow doesn't charge you for anything when sending tweets, but you will only pay the charge of your mobile network (Globe, Sun, Smart), that is Php1..
And all other features, tweetitow won't charge you for anything yet as long as you have enough CREDITS to use their features.

Now, what are credits?
Credits, for me, are the so-called your "tweetitow money". These are your "money" when using their features (will talk more later about it's features). Upon registration, tweetitow will give you 30 credits, and it will refilled 50 credits everyday. Credits are NOT text loads. Like I said, they're virtual money to use the features of Tweetitow.

What are these features you're talkin' about?
These features makes tweetitow waaaaaay different from other applications. With tweetitow, you can also send direct messages to users, follow users and allow to send to your phone their tweets, retrieve the latest tweets on your timeline and give credits to other tweetitow users!

Cool, I wanna try it now!
To register, type:
Reg yourTwitterUserName yourPassword

ex. Reg fredbaa abc123def
and send it to
Globe: 09273389183
Smart: 09281020579
SUN: 09239860673

And wait for the confirmation message that you're already registered to tweetitow!

To send tweets:
Simple, just type in your tweet and send it to the numbers above where you registered. No hassle keywords or anything. To create a mention, just add the @ prefix on usernames, and it will send it directly to that user and appear on your timeline. To create a direct message, just type "d username yourmessage" just like when sending direct messages. So you see, its the same on what you're doing on Twitter.

Mentions and Direct Messages:
This is where the credits come in. When someone mentions you (@fredbaa for example) or sends you a direct message, it automatically sends it to your phone. It does not charge your text load, but on your credits (tweetitow money). And the convenience of it is really cool because you don't have to refresh and refresh your twitter page just to check if someone sent you a DM or mentions you, but it sends it DIRECTLY to your phone. Isn't it amazing? Try it by sending your own username a mention or a DM.

How about Facebook status updates?
And the goodness about it is you can actually connect your Twitter account to Facebook, which when you update your Twitter status, it will update your facebook status as well.
Just change the settings in here: How to Connect Twitter to Facebook

I have probably told you the basics, but if you wanna try other features, check out Tweetitow's website here.

I'm still a FAN of tweetitow and will always be.
If you want a really convenient way of tweeting, then try the application. It's the cherry on your ice cream. It's really sweet! :)

Tweeting + Habit

I think everyone knows what tweeting is, right?
I've been using twitter for a year now, and I tell you its actually a part of my life now.
I never miss tweeting every day.
It's like my micro-mobile-diary..

Tweeting has a lot of use, especially on marketing and newscasting.
I actually subscribe to some news organizations who has twitter accounts, at least I know I'm still connected to the world.
I even follow celebrities who happens to have twitter accounts.
I find this even more viable compared to news about them on the internet, at least in their tweets, they're the one who are actually saying it, not their publicist or anything.

But no, I don't subscribe to Miley Cyrus or Lindsay Lohan. I find their lives irrelevant to me.

I also follow politicians, say for example President Obama, or Chiz Escudero.
They tweet like a lot of important things about our society, and even their fellow colleagues.
At least you know that those things actually happen in the government.

Twitter is about connecting people and with the world.
Sharing ideas, knowledge, news and insights.
Retweeting is one of the coolest thing about tweeting, you share what other people share.
When your post is retweeted, then they actually find it very interesting.

I just don't like people tweeting very irrelevant things like feeding their cat, or showering their dogs.
It's like Paris Hilton tweeting.
Let's tweet something with sense, something that will add to people's learning.
Oh well, I was even like that before, tweeting like anything, but I realize twitter is more than that.

Twitter should change "What are you doing?" to "What do you wanna say to the world?" according to Seth Godin. And that actually is right. Twitter now is not something personal, its about sharing something to the world. Providing information that you find interesting. That is what twitter is all about...

So tweet something interesting and share it to the world. :)

Follow me on Twitter.

Wanna tweet through SMS for only a peso? Use Tweetitow.

Will blog about tweetitow on my next post. :)

the kid who played fire

A friend asked me what my most unforgettable experience when I was a kid. After moments of finding some good memories of my childhood, I picked out the most daring, naughty experience I had.

When I was a kid, I usually play at my neighbor's place.
There was one time I went there and noticed there was no one in the house.
So I played outside their door.
I was playing matchsticks + candle that then when I accidentally lit their window's curtain.
I was scared when the fire grew bigger.
I hurriedly fetch a pail of water and put out the flame.
Good thing the fire didn't spread (and almost burned the house down).
But it was very wet inside.
When our neighbor knew the incident, after seeing the burnt curtains and very wet floor, OMG, she blamed our junkie neighbor who happen to be her greatest enemy.
But my dad knew it was me, so he scolded me really bad (but didn't get any spanking though) and it was the first father/son talk I had with him.

It was the most unforgettable experience I had when I was a kid. :)

Oh no wait....

Also, I think I was 7 that then when I had my first kiss with this really cool girl.
She was my playmate, and the feeling of the first kiss was really heaven.
I was nervous but happy.
LOL. can't believe I'm sharing this to you.

PS.
Up until now, my neighbor still didn't know it was me who almost burned their house 15 years ago. And that girl who I had my first kiss with is still my bestfriend today. :)

sudden shift to KPop

Do you know what KPop is?
If you don't then, have you heard of 2ne1 or Wonder Girls?
If you still don't then have you heard of the song "I want nobody, nobody but you!"?
I'm sure you did. Then I think you already get what KPop is.

KPop is short for Korean Pop, a term for korean mainstream music. These are music that are already popular these days, especially to Filipino youths.

At first, I really don't get why people like these kind of music. First, because I can't understand the lyrics (obviously, unless you speak Korean). Second, singers of these songs are usually 5 or more members (even 9 to 13 members), which they are hardly recognizable (because of the same faces). They're just regular music.

Until I've heard enough KPop songs. Theyw ere actually good. One thing that makes their music unique? They're catchy. So eventhough you don't know what they're talking about or who sang the part of the song, you still love listening to it because they're good on your ears (well, for me).

My roomate actually influenced me. He was watching these music videos of cute Korean girls singing, and cool guys dancing. These are also one of the unique things of KPop, they're music videos are really really good. I love music, and dancing. So it really gets me when they have cool steps jived with cool rhythm. COOLNESS!!

Today, I listen to these KPop artists: SHINee, SNSD, Wonder Girls, Super Junior, Big Bang and 2ne1. They're quite popular these days, maybe that's why. But for me, they're actually good, catchy songs. I also love the music videos. I like KPop now. They're just one of my kinds of music I tune in.

P.S. But I will always love mainstream pop, punk-rock and alternative music. :)

Them, us and me during these hard times

Recently, the Philippines is in a the state of calamity due to the two super typhoons that hit the country, Ondoy and Pepeng. A lot of people, especially in the Metro Manila, have been greatly affected by the typhoon, losing their houses, cars and even loved ones.

After hearing the news, I was like, "really? Naa diay?". I was totally clueless that a typhoon was hitting our country, considering the fine weather we're experiencing here in Cebu. But after I've seen posts from Twitter and Facebook, the pleading help from the typhoon victims, the destructions made by the typhoon, the rising flood, I felt sadness.

I even felt even more worried when my mom texted me saying my brother was in Cainta and they were affected by the flood. I was really scared coz I can't contact him. I really prayed everything will be alright. Especially that Cainta was one of the most affected areas of the typhoon.

When I saw there were people who have lost their homes, their pets and even their loved ones, I was really moved to help. I would really feel bad and sad myself if I was in their position.

So I decided to help. When I saw there was a relief donation center in USC-TC, I went home, grabbed 2 huge boxes, and searched my old clothes and shoes. I also encouraged my roomates to give their unused clothes and put it in the box. It was my first time to give donations aside from money or food. It was really fulfilling.

There were a lot of relief donation centers scattered everywhere in Cebu. Even on bakeries they accept donations for the typhoon victims. Truly, I was proud for the Cebuanos for extending their help for the victims. The people were really united in helping each other out.

And there's something I realized. We should not be moved to help only during hard times. We should also help other people even if there were no typhoons, or any calamities. We should help people every single day. And even more thankful when people help us. According to William James, "Act as if you want to make a difference. It does.". We should make a difference every single day, and one of it is helping each other thru good times and bad times.

Now that the weather is coming back to normal, I hope that the Filipinos will be more bonded as ever. The typhoon tested the Filipinos' will to help each other. Truly, we have it in our hearts the value of "bayanihan". And as for me, it made me grow more as a person.

Review: The Other Boleyn Girl

Hi guys. It's been while since the last time I posted a review. So here it is, my review on one of the most promising "history" movies I've seen, The Other Boleyn Girl.

It's a story about Anne Boleyn (Natalie Portman) and her sister, Mary Boleyn (Scarlett Johansson), on how their father and uncle led them to get the affection of the King of England, Henry VIII (Eric Bana). Mary became a one-time mistress of the king, and Anne became the second wife. The movie portrayed how these sisters greatly changed England through their efforts on the King, especially Anne Boleyn. Read more of the story here.

For me, the movie was really informative. I learned so much about the history of England. I learned so much about Anne Boleyn, that she was the mother of the great queen Elizabeth. Also, about Catherine of Aragon, the 1st wife of Henry VIII, George Boleyn, brother of the Boleyn sisters. The struggle of the King to have a son.
The English reformation after Anne Boleyn's death, that led to the Golden Age of her daughter's reign (Queen Elizabeth). The accusations, trials, secret marriages, scandals, persecutions and beheadings (ouch!). A LOTT!!!

So much for that, the actors played the characters well. Although I never really liked Scarlett's acting, she did great portraying Mary Boleyn. And I love Natalie's role as Anne, strong, intelligent and will-powered. All of them greatly did a great job.
The flow of the story was also good. I can say that because I understood the movie without any reference or background about the story. So it's really cool. :D

Now, I'm so thrilled to watch Elizabeth's story. There's a lot of movies about Queen Elizabeth (one played by cate Blanchett, one that was in the 90's, one's from Discovery channel, another from BBC..a lot!), and I wonder what to watch..

It Still Hurts

This is for you, Cha.

My friend is having his 21st birthday today, and her girlfriend is having a surprise party for him. She requested us (the high school friends) to greet him at 7pm, the time his "surprise!!" birthday will start.

And its so amazing that people will do everything for the person they love, especially on this kind of occasion, to make them happy, surprised, and feel loved.

It's so funny because the exact same thing happened to me with my ex-girlfriend years ago. It was also a surprise birthday that I really didn't expect (that's why its surprise..tsk!).
I remember there are balloons everywhere, some filled with water, there are food, drinks, cake and most of all, my friends and my girlfriend. There were also phone calls from my friends greeting me happy birthday. And guess what, all that also happened at 7pm.

It is really a coincidence. But it made me think of my past. My weird but happy past with Cha. I started questioning myself "What did I do wrong? Was it my fault?", assessing what really happened between us. I started looking back the things that we've done, our rendevous, gimik-gimik, valentine's day, my birthday, her birthday, our birthday, the teddy bears, the chocolates, the donuts, the letters, the jollibees, the McFloats, the videoke, the dance revo, the Timezone spendtimes, the poems, the beach outings, the siomai cravings, the teasing, the cuddles, the gifts, the hugs and the kisses. And I realized I never really had moved on. I still cling to the happiness I've hold on with my past. I don't know. Maybe because of this coincidence that made me feel and reminisce the things we've done together with Cha. But realizing this stuff made me think to myself that I have never let her go. I still feel the loneliness, especially when I stumbled to places or see things that reminds me of her. I feel like crap.

But one thing that is so ironic is that I don't want us to get back together. The things we shared together was enough, including the pain and heartaches we contributed to each other. Yes, I still haven't moved on, but that reason keeps me from NOT doing the same mistakes I've made from the past. It was not in the right place at the right time. Though I'm lonely, but still I'm happy because of my friends who was always there for me, even before I had this happiness with Cha. Now, I don't feel like crap.

They say you will really never forget the person that once made your heart beat. First love never dies, but true love conquers all. I can never forget Cha, the things we've shared, all the joy and love we had before. But I cannot afford to hurt ourselves again. I want us to move on with our lives.

And for Cha, I hope we can be really good friends. I know what we had was more than friendship and I would hold on to that. I hope I'm still your "TC Boy" you once have known. I will always be here for you Cha no matter what happens. You're a wonderful girl and someone deserves you better than I do. Ingat always Cha and I will never forget you. :)

Signs that you're addicted to Left For Dead

Many students today in TC seems to be addicted to this cool, LAN game today so-called "LEFT FOR DEAD".
It's a typical Survivor VS. Zombies game, but with great action and thrills.
It's 4 survivors vs. hundreds of hungry, crazy zombies, plus specially infected zombies that are hard to kill...

So, I was addicted to this game (and I mean, who doesn't?!) and like I have these habits that isn't normal for me. And that I realized, its a symptom that you have a L4D Syndrome.

1st Symptom: You dream about Tank, Hunter, Boomer, Smoker, Witch and a bunch of crazy, running, hungry zombies..
Yup. I was shocked when I woke up one morning, and realized that I was sweating. I had a dream I was chased by these goons..But hello? I have those cool armors and ammos so I didn't die, and I killed them all.. Who cares? It's still my dream..

2nd Symptom: You shout while you sleep..
In accordance with the 1sy symptom, your roomate will soon realize you've been talking to your sleep shouting "Ammos Here!", "I see a HUNTER", and the most comforting words in L4D, "Get into the Safe Room!"..

3rd Symptom: You end up strangling and hitting your roomate with your pillow..
Or worst, when you have a Giant Dictionary Book in your bedside, your roomate will not see daylight the next morning..And your words are "OOPS.."

But that's the worst case, okay?
And it's not true, except for the 1st symptom..ehehe
Maybe if you experienced the 3 signs, don't worry, it's highly curable..
But you have to experience a huge deal of withdrawal side effects first before being cured..hehe.

But for me, nah, I'll just keep on playing..

LEFT 4 DEAD FTW!!!

Trek to Tabunan

Trekking was never in my hobbies list. Though it's not my first time kay I climbed a dormant volcano before (Mt. Kalayo in Bukidnon..), but climbing is tiresome, it extracts all your energy, and it's not fit for me.

Mt. Kalayo or Musuan Peak

But our trip to the virgin forest of Tabunan made me change my point of view on this activity. It was I think the most challenging trip I've ever had, but it was the most fulfilling and interesting activity I've ever experienced.

The trip started in JY Square in Lahug, we rode on a hired jeepney going up to the TOPS. And I always thought that the road stops there, but naa pa diay sa likod sa mountain. The road was going to Toledo, but it was a trip where your only view is foggy mountains. And wow, the air is soooo cool. It's breezy cold.

It was a 45-minute ride going to Tabunan. The place was great. We can view the forest and Mt. Manunggal from the ground (the forest was uphill and it's infront on Mt. Manunggal). Though the weather was a bit rainy,. But it didn't stop us from trekking the forest. Rain or shine, here we come.

Tabunan Forest

I can describe our trek in 3 'R' words: RAINY, ROCKY and ROUGH!

It was rainy (not typhoony though..), and we're all wet.
Our bags are wet, even our foods.
Good thing most of us prepared a plastic bag to put our cellphones and wallets.
I pity the cameras though..hehe

70% of our trail were ROCKS!
Yes, mossy, sharp rocks.
We were sooo careful not to fall from climbing these rocks, kay lisod nah.

And it was rough. Our trail was muddy, slopey and slidy.
Na-slide ko like 2 times (yes, I was too careful..) and I ended up dirty.
The plants around us were so pointy and sharp. I even have scratches from these plants.

All these were challenges of the trek.
But it cannot replace the FUN I experienced while having this trek.
Let me enumerate to you the things I have seen and did during the trek to Tabunan forest.

* I've seen different types of beautiful birds (since Tabunan forest is a sanctuary to the most extinct and expensive birds in the world), including the source of the expensive birds of nest soup, the bird "sayaw-sayaw" in our own Cebuano dialect. It's just so timely we haven't seen the rarest bird in the world (I think it was the Cebu Red Pecker).

Sayaw-sayaw bird

* First time to be in a cave! The cave was the hiding place of 15 families during World War II, so you can imagine how big the cave is. There we found the "sayaw-sayaw" nest too.

* The view was so great. It was the best landscape I've ever since. We even ate at the platform where you can see a great view of the mountains and the birds.

* Tabunan Forests cradles the largest trees, enormous ants, creepy worms, largest "putyukan" (sting bee) hive, huge rocks, rarest birds and beautiful plants I've ever seen in my life.

* I've tasted the sweetest sweet corn, and its only 30 pesos a kilo (3 cobs/kilo). But the corn tasted so sweet, you can even forget your name. hahaha

* Cool cliffhangers!

* and a whole lot more!

So the trek was clearly not a wasted time.
I even forgot I have scratches and small, minor wounds around my body.
Our next challenge is Mt. Manunggal.
And I will take that challenge, and experience again the joy of climbing.

PS: Thanks to Whitney Ouano for the pictures..
More pics in my Facebook Profile..:D

So that We'll Like You More...

/*
* Taken from a facebook note..
*/

We guys don't care if you talk to other guys.

We don't care if you're friends with other guys.

But when you're sitting next to us, and some random guy walks into the room and you jump up and tackle him, without even introducing us, yeah, it pisses us off.

It doesn't help if you sit there and talk to him for ten minutes without even acknowledging the fact that we're still there.

We don't care if a guy calls OR TEXTS you, but at 2 in the morning we do get a little concerned.

Nothing is that important at 2 am that it can't wait till the morning.

Also, when we tell you you're pretty/beautiful/gorgeous/
cute/stunning, we freaking mean it.

Don't tell us we're wrong.

We'll stop trying to convince you.

The sexiest thing about a girl is confidence.

Yeah, you can quote me.

Don't be mad when we hold the door open.

Take Advantage of the mood I'm in.

Let us pay for you!
Dont 'feel bad.
We enjoy doing it.

It's expected.

Smile and say "thank you".

Kiss us when no one's watching.

If you kiss us when you know somebody's looking, we'll be more impressed.

You don't have to get dressed up for us.

If we're going out with you in the first place, you don't have to feel the need to wear the shortest skirt you have or put on every kind of makeup you own.

We like you for who you are and not what you are.

Honestly, i think a girl looks more beautiful when she's just in her pj's.

Or my tshirt and boxers, not all dolled up.

Don't take everything we say seriously.

Sarcasm is a beautiful thing. See the beauty in it.

Don't get angry easily.

Stop using magazines/media as your bible.

Don't talk about how hot Chris Brown, Brad Pitt, or Jesse McCartney is in front of us.

It's boring, and we don't care. You have girlfriends for that.

Whatever happened to the word "handsome"/'beautiful"
I'd be utterly stunned by a girl who greeted me with "Hey handsome!" instead of "Hey baby/stud/cutie/sexy" or whatever else you can think of.

On the other hand I'm not saying I wouldn't like it either ; )

Girls, I cannot stress this enough: if you aren't being treated right by a guy, don't wait for him to change!

Ditch his sorry butt, disgrace to the male population and find someone who will treat you with utter respect. Someone who will honor your morals.

Someone who will make you smile when you're at your lowest.

Someone who will care for you even when you make mistakes.

Someone who will love you, no matter how bad you make them feel.

Someone who will stop what they're doing just to look you in the eyes....and say "I love you" ..and actually mean it.

Give the nice guys a chance.

Guys repost this if you agree.

Girls repost this if you think it's cute.

Every Guy who isn't a jerk will agree with this,
so we hope that all the girls that read this will repost this.

ADVICE:

So far, So good.

So far, so good.
As an employee and at the same time student, I have to set some priorities and responsibilities, now that I'm earning on my own.
I have to pay my own "labandera" and internet fee to help my parents.
And I'm thinking of paying my own tuition if naka-ipon nako.
And I have to be more thrift in my expenses, no more BIG TIME dining out, Starbucks or pizza!
And most of all, I still have to do good in both my work and in school.

Yeah, it sounded so grown up.
But that's a reality in life.
I never really thought of going to this stage.
I was spoiled to have a really carefree life, that I have my parents to support me when I needed something.
But now, I have my own life, expenses, finances, bills, and responsibilities.

I thought I was independent, because I'm living away from my family, my direct source of resources.
But that was just a quarter of what an independent life is.
Being independent totally means being not dependent to anyone except yourself (except siguro sa imu gitrabahu-an kay sila man muhatag nmo ug money..hehe).

But you know why having independent life is good?
You will learn how to become more mature.
Even by paying your own bills, you learn how to become more responsible for yourself.
By not asking for any money from your parents, you help them with their expenses and their problems.
By living independent, it molds you even more as a person.

Though my life now is still okay, I know that there will come a time that it will be going to be even tougher.
I just hope I can survive it.

But so far, so good. :D

Ice Age 3: Review

Despite the bad ratings given by RottenTomatoes, I still have totally enjoyed the movie.

Good thing I never checked out RottenTomatoes before watching the film, kay surely, I will have the tendency again of being influenced and biased by their ratings.

So the movie was really funny.
I never got a chance to watch the 2nd installment of the movie (Ice Age 2), but the story was manageable.. hahaha

It's about the discovery of the new world of dinosaurs underneath the snow caps of Ice Age era.
And guess why they got there? Again because of Sid. After kidnapping the eggs of Momma Dino, Sid was carried into the dino world by the T-rex mom.
And that started their adventure...

I love the characters, especially Sid, Buck and the two possums (Crash and Eddie I think..)
I remember the scene where Buck and the possums save Sid from the burning falls of lava, and this what their conversation looked like:
Possum1: "There's SID, we should save him!"
Buck: "Roger that"
Possum2: "No, let's save Sid first, the lets save Roger later"
Buck: "Yeah, thats what I mean. I ..."
Possum1: "No you said Roger that, let's save Sid first..okay?"
Buck: exhales..

lol..just watch the movie and you will have buckets of laugh and fun!

personal rating: 91%

First 3 days of class SY 2009-2010

Well, as you probably know, classes haven't started yet. That's usually the case in USC, and especially for us CompSci students because we're still feeling our new building.

And it's not new "new", but it's old "new".
We're using the 4th floor of the old Engineering building now and left our most beloved AS building, now occupied by psychos, anthros, historians and verbose people. hehehehe. Just Kidding!
AS building is now occupied by the Arts students who also transferred from the Main campus.

And as we "feel" our new building, I also noticed the changes of the university's aura.
IT'S FILLED WITH SO MANY _____ PEOPLE..
It's blank because new types of people invaded the campus (including the freshmen and the transferees), and I really hate SOME of those people.

But anyway, our new rooms are not that bad. We still have our project room, yey! I hope there's still internet connection there too. I also think we have our security cameras there too. And also our laboratory computers (which are very high-tech). The teachers are the same. My classmates are the same. The people are the same. It's nearer to the gate (no multicab fares for me!). And we own the fourth floor! hahahah

I only have two subjects this semester, one for MWF, and one for TTh, all at 7:30 in the morning, which really sucks! I have to wake up early in the morning and wait for the long line queue in our only bathroom in my new boardinghouse. Oh yeah, I transferred now, and the boardinghouse is still under construction (including our CR's and bathrooms), and we can only use one toilet for now. That's why it sucks!

And about my work, I'm working on a video conference feature in our website using TokBox, and also PandaStream for video uploading, sharing and streaming. I studied their API, wikis and everything about their stuff. It's really tiring but fun. I learned so much too.

It's already Wednesday, and the week has not yet finished, but I already encountered a lot of new things. I just the week's going to get better, and bring me more surprises. Just not problems, bugs on my site or enemies I hope. hehe

P.S. GOD BLESS TO US!!

Manila and ICMC!

So I came back from Manila, and wow, the place is totally polluted!
HAHAHA

But what I really love is the fellowship I had with my brothers and sisters in Christ, and the leadership conference that had helped me to become a better leader and at the same time, a better person!

The trip was a lot of first times for me:
First plane trip (Yeah, first time but it was so fun!)
First time in Luzon (I so love talking in Tagalog. Dili klaro sko accent. hehe)
First time to ride on a Roller Coaster and other rides in a amusement park (Nindut kau feeling! Feels like Im going to die! My spirit's taken away in roller coaster and Star Flyer! But I totally love it!) We also went to some lame horror tunnels. LOL!
First time to meet other Campus Ministries around the globe. (:D)

We went to a lot of places:
Makati (Tiara Hotel, CAP, Greenbelt, Landmark),
Malate (where we stayed- FEMS building),
Laguna (Rizal Recreation Center-Rizal, Laguna, HOPE Worldwide - Biñan, Laguna )
Star City (My first ride on "nakakalula" and "mkawalag-spiritu" rides, but i had so much fun!)
CCP Complex (had quite time there with QCC peeps)
Harrison Park

I never got a chance to visit Mall of Asia because of the time, but I will totally go back there to visit all of those places. HAHAHA

I had so much fun I definitely wouldn't forget that experience during the International Campus Ministry Conference. See yah next year!

Terminator Salvation: Why I like it despite of the bad ratings?

Why Bad Rating? Read Here in RottenTomatoes.

So despite of it, giving the movie only 34% rating, I wasn't disappointed like the Angels and Demons and Wolverine, and not so really amazed like Star Trek or Harry Potter. It was just enough and worth it and just reached my standards. I would give the movie 78%. For the good story, great special effects (the robots and the machines) and the visual effects & prosthetics.

The movie was set on the year 2018 after the Judgement Day predicted by Sarah Connor. John Connor was the key to the destruction of Skynet and the salvation of humankind from the machines. So if you really know the story of the Terminator, and watched the previous movies and even the TV Series, you will really appreciate it.

The terminator here is still Arnold Schwarzenegger (I hope I spelled it right) in 3D. I read once in an article that Arnold said he will be part of the movie but will not act it, so McG, the director of the movie (also the director of Charlie's Angels 1 and 2 movies, and Chuck series), decided to do it in 3D. That's why he looks not real in the movie. But it wouldn't be Terminator without Arnold, right?!

The story also revolves on a human cyborg (human flesh, heart and brain, chip controlled nervous system and eyes..haha) that seeks answers on why he's like that. And also the salvation of Kyle Reese, father of John Connor.

Trivia: the guy who played Kyle Reese also appeared in the movie Star Trek (the russian/german guy).

So overall, the movie was really worth it and a must watch!
